I always encourage clients who are looking for a home in Victoria BC, to also consider looking at duplexes in their price point close to downtown Victoria BC. Esquimalt has quite a few duplexes for sale, as there are several homes, that have been zoned on duplex lots. Developers are buying this homes, tearing them down, building duplexes, so as to provide more homes for sale in Victoria BC. Duplex lots are typically zoned to allow two dwellings, however there are some duplexes that are built with suites as well, providing additional accommodation and revenue, which is great, as most townhouses do not offer this additional income and opportunity. We are finding now, as projects are getting more densified, there are less duplexes being offered, and more townhouse projects being built, as a result this is driving up the value of duplexes that are available for sale.
